8. Website visits and cookies
We use different types of cookies on our website. These are small text files that are stored on your computer. A cookie records, for example, which web pages you view and which options you use. These cookies are also used to improve the website's user-friendliness.
We use functional, analytical, and advertising cookies. Functional cookies are necessary for the site to function. These cookies store the user's preferences. Functional cookies are always placed on your computer. You will not receive a notification to give consent for this. An example of a functional cookie is the Cookiebot cookie, which remembers whether or not your computer accepts cookies from us, so that this notification does not appear multiple times. Other examples include cookies from Cloudflare, Shopify, Returnless, and Vimeo.
Analytical cookies are used to analyse how visitors use the website. For example, we track which pages users visit, what type of devices they use, whether you've visited the website before, and where people come from. Your (language) preferences are also recorded here. You will receive a notification asking you to consent to this when you first visit the website.
If you give permission for this, advertising cookies may be placed during a website visit. These cookies are used to show advertisements on (partner) websites that may be useful to you, such as personalised offers. These cookies are also used to measure the efficiency of advertisements and limit the number of times you see the same advertisement.
All cookies we may place are listed in the cookie notification you receive when you first visit the website, or when you have deleted all cookies from your browser.9. Surveys and competitions
Occasionally, we may invite you to participate in a survey or competition — for instance, to help us improve our collection, service, or communications, or to thank you for your engagement with PLEIN PUBLIQUE. Participation is always entirely voluntary: you are never obliged to take part, answer questions, or provide information, and you can stop participating at any time.
When you complete a survey, we collect only the data you choose to share with us by answering the questions. We do not log IP addresses, nor do we link your answers to your customer account, email address, or any other information we may hold about you. Consequently, your answers remain anonymous and cannot be traced back to you personally.
Similarly, when you enter a competition, we collect only the data you provide — such as a photo and other details required to process your entry (e.g., your name and email address). We do not log IP addresses or link the data to your customer account, should you have one. If you win, we use this information to contact you and may request a postal address if the prize needs to be sent by mail.
We use survey results solely for internal purposes to improve PLEIN PUBLIQUE. We may share aggregated insights with partners (such as media agencies), but never in a way that allows individual answers or respondents to be identified. For competitions, we use your data exclusively to determine the winner(s), contact them, and award the prize. If we wish to announce a winner's name — for example, on our website or social media — we will always ask for your explicit permission beforehand.
When answering open-ended questions or using free-text fields — such as in a survey or when asked to explain your entry for a contest — we ask that you do not include personal details about yourself or others. If you do happen to include such information by mistake, we will remove it when processing the results.
For surveys and contests, we sometimes use platforms like Typeform. While we delete all data received via the platform once the survey or contest has ended, we do not always know exactly what data those platforms collect themselves; that is beyond our control.
10. Who do we share your data with?
We never sell your data. However, we do need to share it in order to process orders and provide other services related to the webshop. We work with trusted partners to deliver our services. Your data is only shared with parties that genuinely need it to process orders or communicate with you. See below for details:
